We start each project with an in-home consultation to get to know you, your style and your heart’s desires for your home. This is where we begin imagining what could be. We’ll identify an initial scope, and begin ideating for the conceptual design phase. We always leave these initial meetings excited and energized by the possibilities!
Our Process
This is our creative journey. From consultation through installation, every step is thoughtfully considered to align with your ultimate sense of place and being. The magic lives in the co-creation. The journey sparks joy- every time.
Consultation
Conceptual Design
Next, we’ll begin curating the inspiration and mood which will become the north star and foundation for the design. We will include select material, furnishing and decor selections that we feel will be key to the overall vision. There are generally two high-level versions we develop in the process that we present to clients during an initial virtual check-in to get a feeling for the direction that resonates most. We’ve found our clients love being part of this process; both seeing the visuals come together early on and having something to react to.
In this phase we’ll also either take measurements or convert existing floor plans to a 3D model which will become our virtual eyes for the duration of the project between site visits. In this model, we’ll space plan furnishing layouts, create specifications for custom elements like fireplaces or feature walls, and eventually layer in key decor elements like built and scaled gallery walls. Being able to see an evolving space in 3D builds confidence for our clients and helps us ensure everything is cohesive both spatially and stylistically within and across spaces. It’s also critical to ensuring the pieces we are loving and selecting fit just-right. Measure three times, cut once.
Design Execution
Once we’ve landed an initial direction, we’ll begin to refine all elements of the design including palette development, material selections, furnishing layouts and custom built-elements. Project management is a critical function in this phase, tracking all material and furnishing selections for partners and clients to ensure alignment across teams. In this phase there are site visits to validate measurements prior to ordering, meetings with contractors to confirm specifications for built elements, and client check-ins for sharing creative evolution and gaining approvals.
Installation
During this final phase of execution, the built elements are installed, furnishings are delivered and placed, and we finish the space with the ever important decor layers. Up until this point, the focus is creating a beautifully cohesive vision across spaces, ensuring built elements are executed flawlessly, and furnishings fit just-right. Next it shifts to the micro elements that are imperative to bringing the magic to life, and it takes just as much consideration. The ultimate goal is for the details to feel curated, balanced, appropriately scaled, and bespoke. It’s both an art and a science, the parting gift that leaves a feeling of joire de vivre at the project’s end.
